The Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t wait long to get busy during NBA free agency. Just about two hours after free agency began, the Cavs and all-star point guard Kyrie Irving agree to a 5-year $90 million dollar contract extension.

The deal will become official July 10, when Irving can officially sign the contract.

The signing of Irving is also part of the Cavaliers plan to try and sign Heat forward LeBron James and bring him back to Cleveland or try to lure top free agents to come play in Cleveland..

Irving shared his thoughts about the new deal on his twitter account.

“I’m here for the long haul Cleveland!!! and I’m ecstatic!! Super excited and blessed to be here and apart of something special. “
