The son of a Cleveland City councilman was arrested for allegedly attacking a man with a hammer in a downtown Cleveland street.

Kevin Conwell, Jr., 29, faced a Cleveland Municipal Court judge Monday on a felonious assault charge.

Police said the attack happened around 3 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Saint Clair Avenue.

A police report states an officer saw two men arguing in the street. The victim, Bryan McIntosh, 29, reported Conwell hit him in the forehead with a hammer following the argument.

According to the report, McIntosh said he had just left a nightclub when he was approached by Conwell and Conwell’s wife, Tierra Conwell.
