Hollywood actress Jessica Alba used to be a part of a born-again Christian youth group.

Awesome.

But she left because she couldn’t reconcile the Bible’s views on sexuality with her own experiences.

Not so awesome.

I know a lot of people like her.

They have a zeal for life, passion for people and a desire to do something great with their lives. Yet, they struggle to reconcile the differences between biblical principles and widely accepted daily practices.

As you know, the Kingdom of God and the kingdoms of this world don’t agree—at all.

I first learned about Jessica’s former Christian ties while reading an interview she completed with The Daily Beast while promoting an upcoming film.

During the discussion, the popular 33-year-old wife and mom called her former ministry peers “very twisted” for their pro-biblical stance.

“I fell in love when I was 16 and had this major crush on… I guess he was a drag queen? He was bisexual and a ballerina, and this was while I was at the Atlantic Theater Company in Vermont,” she said.

According to her, the more time she spent with the effeminate dancer, the less connected she felt to her faith.
