A heartfelt thank you from dating violence survivor Johanna Orozco.
“I’m really really excited and so so grateful,” Orozco said.
Orozco spoke to us from Germany via Skype about how grateful she is to all of the people who are donating to her fund. Donations will pay for airline tickets to Los Angeles so she can undergo new facial reconstruction surgery. A non profit organization stepped up to take care of the procedure.
“I haven’t had surgery in a few year, and I’ve really been wanting to do more things that will make me happy,” Orozco said. “I do feel beautiful but this is something that i really need to do for me,” By Thursday afternoon, Orozco had already surpassed her goal of $1,350 after posting her story and special request on her GoFundMe website.
“I didn’t know what to think,” Orozco said. “I wasn’t expecting it to go this far so quickly.”
She’s still living with scars after her ex-boyfriend shot her in the face when she was a teen. Orozco, an inspiring woman turned her tragic ordeal into educating others about abuse.
