Almost everyone has a ‘worst Christmas gift’ story. From ugly sweaters to hand-knitted hats, if you haven’t received one yet, just wait.
Consumer Reports quantified the common complaints in national poll. If booze is your go-to gift for the holidays, you might want to rethink it. One in four Americans surveyed said it’s the least desirable gift to receive. Wine fared much better. Only 6% said they wouldn’t want to receive a bottle as a gift.
The survey asked people which gifts they considered “undesirable”. The top ten worst gifts, according to the survey include:
- Spirits (whiskey, rum, vodka, brandy, etc.) — 25%
- Flowers/plants — 23%
- Home decor (frames, candles) — 13%
- Books — 8%
- Kitchen items — 7%
- Clothes — 6%
