Martin and fellow coach Tyrone Harris were reportedly at an office at the high school, when a heated argument took place. The verbal altercation between the two colleagues, which was reportedly laced with rapid fire curse words, soon escalated to physical assault.

Police allege that Martin was out of control in a rage that resulted in her biting Harris’ face, specifically an eye and his nose. Martin then also reportedly threw a chair at Harris and verbally threatened to stomp him and knock his teeth out.

According to Martin’s attorney, S. Carlton Rouse, who spoke to WSB-TV, his client never laid a hand on Harris nor threatened his safety. Rouse then gave the following statement explaining his client’s innocence:

“Since the incident, Ms. Martin consistently denied touching [the coach] and certainly never threatened his safety. While she would like to respond in great detail revealing [the victim’s] true motivation for making such a sensational claim, based upon the advice of counsel, she must respect legal process and will introduce facts at the appropriate time in court.
