“Ice Ice Baby” rapper, Vanilla Ice (pictured) aka Robert Van Winkle, was arrested Wednesday and charged with grand theft and burglarizing a Florida residence according to WABC 7 News.

Van Winkle, who is now a Mr. Fix-It of sorts starring in his own DIY Network TV reality series, “The Vanilla Ice Project,”  was renovating a property that was adjacent to the residence where the items were stolen.  According to Lantana Police about $14,000 worth of items were stolen from the burglarized foreclosed property between December 2014 and February 2015 including furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and a few other things.  After police collected and corroborated witness statements and executed a search warrant at Van Winkle’s home, they reportedly surmised that the 47-year-old is a suspect in the crime, according to WABC 7 News.

The now-occasional performer and house flipper is no stranger to arrest, with a rap sheet that dates back to 1991.  Van Winkle has had bouts with the law that include weapons possession, domestic violence and motor vehicle offenses.

He was released from the Palm Beach County jail on a $6,000 bond a few hours after being taken into custody.  Van Winkle spoke to the Sun Sentinelstating that his arrest was a misunderstanding that’s been blown out of proportion.
