Christian hip-hop artist Lecrae recently revealed that he in the process of collaborating with one of the rappers who inspired him to pursue a career in rap – Lauryn Hill.

Before Hill began her solo career, she was best known for joining her ex-boyfriend rapper/producer Wyclef Jean and his cousin Pras Michel to form the iconic rap group the Fugees from 1992-1997, highlighted by songs such as “Killing Me Softly with His Song”, “Fu-Gee-La” and, “Ready or Not.”

Lecrae revealed in an interview that he is in the process to begin working with The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill artist in the near future.

“I got a phone call from my management and they said they got a phone call from Lauryn Hill’s camp. They said she reached out ask about me doing an interview for a project she was working on.  When I heard that I was even being considered by her, I was like, ‘Are you serious right now? Why are you asking me if I’m interested?  You should just ask, could you get on a flight right now?,’” said Lecrae to Essence Magazine in March 2015.
