The legendary Clark Sisters have an unlikely fan: Snoop Dogg.
On Tuesday, April 14, the 43-year-old rapper, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., shared his playlist on Instagram,
which included their mega hit, “You Brought the Sunshine.”
When a fan informed Kierra Sheard— daughter of group member, Karen Clark Sheard—that the “D-O-Double G” was
rocking out to The Clark Sisters, she responded on Instagram.
“He’s listening to mommy and Aunties (The Clark Sisters) and I been listening to him,” wrote Kierra, after posting lyrics
to former gangster rapper Dr. Dre’s 1992 smash, “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang,” from his album, The Chronic, which
features Snoop Dogg.
Stoked to know her family’s Christ-centered artistry had crossed over into mainstream notoriety, Kierra said, “Just say
I wanna be like #TheClarkSisters when I grow up…where my music from my teen years are still giving strong messages
to so many others!”
Kierra ended with, “thanks Mr. SnoopDogg for mentioning my mommy and aunties.”
