As fans of FOX’s “Empire” highly anticipate the series return of Season 2, the cast can be seen on all over front pages and networks building excitement for the premiere episode.

The Hollywood Reporter gathered the cast of “Empire” for its latest cover “Empire on Fire”. In the story, the magazine spoke to  the show’s co-creator, Lee Daniels about the public perception of some of the shows leading actors including, Terrance Howard.

In an interview in Rolling Stone, Howard admitted to having physically assaulted his two ex-wives, but Daniels said it’s nothing new in Hollywood.

He told The Hollywood Reporter:

“That poor boy. [Terrence] ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some f***in’ demon,” Daniels said.

Brando and Penn are both white actors, but Daniels statement alluded to the fact that their abusive pasts were not magnified due to racial stigma and climate.

“That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are right now in America.”
