October 6 is the best day of the year to book your Thanksgiving travel, according to an analysis by travel site Orbitz.
On this day, holiday fares are 5 percent cheaper than average, Orbitz reports.
Prices start going up around Oct. 11 and by Nov. 20 flights cost 5 percent more than average.
The best day to book your Christmas trip is also this week.
Orbitz analysts say you should book those flights on Oct. 9.
