Kendrick Lamar, “To Pimp A Butterfly”  is the first album since 1989 to spend 2 weeks as number 1 on Billboard‘s top 200 chart and according to Rolling Stone magazine he is one of the best 50 albums of the year.  His hit song “Alright” has become an anthem of hope, being chanted in peaceful protest marches across America.  His master piece album has him regarded by some as the Tupac Shakur of the new music generation.

The Grammy “Album Of The Year” award includes all genres of music in this category.  The other nominees in this category include Taylor Swift (1989), Alabama Shakes (Sound and Color) and Chris Stapleton (Traveller).  The 2016 Grammy Awards will air February 15, 2016 at 8p.
