Funeral services for The Reverend William Schooler will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Hill Church, located at 1866 W. Third St. in Dayton.

William Schooler died Sunday following a regular church service in a back room at St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton. He was reportedly killed by his brother, Daniel Schooler.

Pastor Schooler was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of Rev. William Schooler. Rev. Schooler dedicated his life to the community as a former member of Dayton’s Northwest Priority Board, and the Dayton Board of Education,” said Congressman Mike Turner. “He will always be remembered for his leadership at St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family while they continue to work through this difficult time..
