R&B singer Ciara Harris shared an inspirational message from Bishop T.D. Jakes this past week about people close to you discouraging you from reaching your destiny.

Ciara, 30, took to Twitter where she shared a link of Bishop Jakes’ sermon that she called “So Good.”

In the sermon titled “The Battle Is Not Yours,” the senior pastor of The Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas, spoke about people speaking negatively against the destiny of others.

“Every time you get ready to do something great there’s always somebody who reminds you of your place…who are you to go after that, who are you to build a house, who are you to write a book, who are you,” Jakes preaches in the video shared on his own Instagram. ” I could’ve took the insult if it came from the giant, but this comes from the same brother that I came to bring love. How could you eat my lunch and talk against my destiny?”

The sermon clip is accompanied by a caption that states, “Have you ever had someone attached to your history discourage you from your Destiny?”
