‘Super Bacteria’ Discovered In Rio’s Waters As Olympics Near:

A group of Brazilian scientists have detected a drug-resistant bacteria growing off the shores of some of Rio de Janeiro’s most stunning beaches, one month before they’re due to host the 2016 Olympic Games.

According to lead researcher Renata Picao, the “super bacteria” entered the city’s waterways when sewage coming from local hospitals got channeled into the bay.

“We have been looking for ‘super bacteria’ in coastal waters during a one year period in five beaches,” Picao told CNN, during a visit to her lab. “We found that the threats occur in coastal waters in a variety of concentrations and that they are strongly associated with pollution.”

Kevin Durant Will Join The Golden State Warriors:

The wait is over.

Kevin Durant — the biggest name in this summer’s NBA free agent class — has decided to sign with the Golden State Warriors and will leave the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The decision was announced Monday on The Players’ Tribune, a media platform used by athletes to tell their own stories.
The 27-year-old forward is listed as a “Deputy Publisher” for the website.
“This has been by far the most challenging few weeks in my professional life,” Durant said of his decision. “I understood cognitively that I was facing a crossroads in my evolution as a player and as a man, and that it came with exceptionally difficult choices. What I didn’t truly understand, however, was the range of emotions I would feel during this proces

Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2016: Results, Prize Money Payouts and Reaction:

Joey Chestnut cruised to the 100th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest title on Monday and broke his own world record in the process, eating an incredible 70 hot dogs in 10 minutes

Matt Stonie, who won last year’s contest by eating 62 hot dogs, only managed to get down 53 this year, finishing in second place.

“Last year was rough, but everyone was like, ‘It’s gonna make next year better.’ And everyone was right,”

Chestnut won the Hot Dog Eating Contest eight straight times between 2007 and 2014, before Stonie ended his reign of terror last year. Chestnut had ended the dominance of Takeru Kobayashi, who won the contest six straight times between 2001 and 2006.

Noel Neill, Actress Who Portrayed Lois Lane On ‘Superman’ TV Show, Dies:

Noel Neill, the first actress to play Lois Lane on screen in the “Superman” film series, has died, her biographer said on Monday.

Neill passed away of natural causes on Sunday at her home in Tucson, Arizona, Larry Ward said. She was 95.
The Superman story has been immensely popular for decades, seeing success in comic books, television and movies.
Ward said the actress was a super person and performer, just a natural for the role of Lois Lane, the reporter on the Daily Planet newspaper in the city of Metropolis.
Lois Lane was a friend of Superman and a colleague of Clark Kent, the mild-mannered reporter who was Superman’s alter ego.
“She basically played herself. She was exactly the same person on the screen as off the screen,” Ward said.
