The Cleveland school district has been dealt some heavy changes this school year. Today marks the first day of school as well as the first day the Cleveland School District transformation plan takes place. The plan, which began with the closing or merging of 16 schools, calls for building-by-building reforms. East Tech High School is one of them to merge. Basheer Jones of WERE 1490 (The Basheer Jones & Company Morning Show) has taken a special interest in East Tech High School and wanted to share some encouraging words with them as well as a special guest. Students gathered into the auditorium to hear encouraging words from Cleveland schools CEO Eugene Sanders. Little did the students know that he was only one of the special guests that would greet them this afternoon? The R&B star Trey Songz came on stage to surprise the students.
