Tiffany Morland said it wasn’t supposed to turn out like this.
Morland and her 12-year-old nephew are now facing false alarm charges after a April Fools’ Day joke went wrong.
The two planned to prank Morland’s mother, who was working at the time. The nephew phoned his grandmother and told her his mom had been shot. Before he could utter the critical “April fools” phrase, the grandmother hung up and called 911.
Numerous Lorain police units swarmed the family home with guns drawn before the prank could be explained.
