A Happy Marriage! “Jumping The Broom” Leaps At Box Office

The T.D. Jakes produced “Jumping The Broom” leapt over expectations this weekend with an opening of over $13 million.

The class-conscious comedy movie was only expected to open up with between $8-10 million in sales.

While Tyler Perry seemed to have the Black marriage/comedy market in a stranglehold, Jakes appears to be a player now with the success of this movie.

‘The Avengers’ to film in Cleveland

 

Ohio Gov. John Kasich says filming of the Marvel Studios superhero movie “The Avengers” will take place in Cleveland.

Kasich made the announcement Thursday before Mayor Frank Jackson’s State of the City address.

The film for release next year features the Marvel comics superheros, including Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.
