Police conducted a New Year’s search of a “bar” in Alliance that was operating without a liquor license. The action resulted in the arrest of the alleged operator and 16 underage patrons found to have been drinking alcohol.

According to the Alliance Police Department’s Facebook page, detectives searched the alleged “nightclub” at 806 South Morgan Avenue at approximately 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

The makeshift establishment allegedly run by Kenneth Stovall Sr., 46, was found to be in violation of numerous liquor laws.

The APD says that the search was part of an ongoing investigation based on numerous complaints from local residents over the past year or so.

Officers decided to make an inspection of the premises based on indications that numerous underage persons would be there consuming alcohol, and that Stovall was charging admission to the “bar.”

Roughly 75 people were inside. Stovall was immediately spotted and taken into custody. Sixteen underage patrons were arrested. Four of them were under 18 years of age.
