CLEVELAND – Ed FitzGerald just got a big boost in his campaign for Ohio’s governor. Thursday morning, on the steps of Cleveland City Hall, Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson announced his support for FitzGerald.

Jackson joined other area leaders at a news conference, saying FitzGerald understands the issues facing our area and would make good decisions for Ohio as governor. He joins former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland in his endorsement of FitzGerald.

FitzGerald, 44, is the state’s second most powerful elected executive behind Gov. Kasich. He is a former special agent with the FBI and mayor of Lakewood.
