Students at the northeast Ohio school where three students were killed in a shooting two years ago are being urged to be kind to one another in memory of their fallen classmates.

A statement from the school district said students are being asked “to perform simple intentional acts of kindness” as the second anniversary of the shootings at Chardon High School approaches on Thursday.

Chardon High School principal Andy Fetchik tells The News-Herald of Willoughby (http://bit.ly/1eor8wg) that “our students continue to focus on others above themselves.”

After a private assembly for students Thursday, the public is invited to an evening vigil on the front lawn of the high school.

Nineteen-year-old T.J. Lane pleaded guilty and is serving life sentences for the rampage at the school east of Cleveland.
