A Cleveland Heights teenager was attacked while on her way to school last week  by two teenage assailants who stole her cell phone and escaped on foot.

17-year-old Imari Carnail was on her way to a bus stop, in the 1900 block of Lee Road, shortly before 8 a.m. when she was approached by two teenage boys who claimed they need to make an emergency call on her phone.

Carnail said she kept going because she was afraid she might be late for school.

Instead, the assailants grabbed her and reached inside her sweatshirt pocket for the phone — before taking off on foot.

“It was like really scary,” said Carnai, who was not injured in the attack.
