The Cavs hit the court Sunday afternoon, and guests of the game were seeing blue.
The Cavs teamed up with Cleveland Clinic Children’s Center for Autism and Autism Speaks to shine a bright blue light on Autism Awareness Day, which is April 2.
Children from the organizations were able to join the Wine and Gold United members on the Cavs’ and Pacers’ benches pregame.
They also hit the court for a T-shirt toss with the players.
“The CDC just released new information that autism now affects one in 68 children, so the need is there more than ever to really help with early identification,” said Dr. Leslie Markowitz, of the Cleveland Clinic. “We have a lot of great interventions and treatments that have been shown to help kids who are identified early.”
Coaches, staff and broadcasters were all adorned in blue, and the inside of the Q’s Arcade Arena and the outside of the building were lit up with blue light.
The light display will last throughout April.
