A Baltimore high school teacher has been placed on administrative leave and a student is facing charges after a fight inside a school was caught on camera, according to WBALTV 11.

The incident happened Friday at Carver Vocational-Technical High School in West Baltimore, Md., after a verbal confrontation turned physical, the report says. School investigators are trying to determine whether the teacher acted unprofessionally or if she was just overly frustrated with the student, who reportedly instigated the disturbance.

In the video, a teacher, who can be seen in video in a light-colored shirt talking on her cell phone, rushing at a female student. The teacher reportedly can be heard saying, “I’ll kill you in here,” along with some expletives. Sources said the teacher can been seen on video using her cell phone to call for assistance with the student prior to the fight, the report says.

At some point, another witness began recording the incident from a different angle, showing the fight continued with the teacher grabbing the student and slamming her into the lockers. It appears the teacher grabbed the student’s hair and didn’t let go, notes the news station.

One parent was not pleased with the teacher. “She got a job to do,” former Carver parent Gloria Talley, told the news station. “That’s what she gets paid to do is to teach, not to fight. She’s supposed to act professional, not like a student or like a young hopper or something. Carver school is more professional than that. I don’t understand why they got that going on in there.”

But more video appears to show the student as the aggressor. Sources told 11 News that inside the classroom before things spilled out into the hallway, the class was taking a test, and the teacher told the student to get off her phone or she would have to stop the test.
