As a couple you should pray and study the Word of God together. This is an essential part of your courtship. God must be the head of every relationship to ensure the success of the couple. His Word will also help you set Godly boundaries. This does not displace your personal study time with the Lord. You must continue to work on yourself as an individual, maintaining your special relationship with Jesus Christ. Your first step is to learn how to submit to the Lord and then to each other. You’ll want to find a mate that will help you grow closer to Christ, counsel you in the word, pray for you, and love you the way God loves the church. Scripture teaches us that Iron Sharpens Iron. How can you know who God is, and if you are on the right path as a couple; if you don’t know God’s word?
