They may be leaders of the free world, but President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama are not immune to racism.
In a PEOPLE feature, the power couple open up about having to deal with prejudice and stereotypes just like everyone else.
“I think people forget that we’ve lived in the White House for six years,” the first lady told the publication. “Before that, Barack Obama was a black man that lived on the South Side of Chicago, who had his share of troubles catching cabs.”
