Rumor: Mexican Restaurant In Cleveland Heights Targeted In ICE Raid
The following report has yet to be confirmed by the restaurant or the federal government.
Social media is buzzing about a local eatery in Cleveland Heights being the first local raid by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Northeast Ohio.
News broke Sunday on X and Facebook alleging ICE has raided Cilantro Taqueria in Coventry.
Cilantro Taqueria has yet to comment on the potential raid.
In a Reddit thread about the alleged raid, one commenter said, “I can confirm. I work on the street. I don’t know the exact details, but I know enough to know they took more than one person.”

Another Reddit post supposedly shared a picture of the raid.
A user on X posted, “Ice raiding Cilantro Taqueria really just ruined my day. It’s so much crime and death in the city, and the authentic taco spot was priority?”
Other social media posts state that the restaurant will be closed for the next three days.
Cilantro Taqueria has six locations in Northeast Ohio. For now, the Coventry location appears to be the only one affected.
At this point, social media posts are only speculation. However, if you call the Coventry location for Cilantro Taqueria, an automated message explains that the restaurant will be closed through today (Monday), but doesn’t explain why.
This is a developing story. We’ll provide more information as news becomes available.
