Maumee, Ohio arrests
Source: Lucas County / Lucas County Corrections

Six people in Maumee, Ohio, kidnapped and tortured a 26-year-old man for a week, according to police.

Officers arrested Aaron Bradshaw, 49; Austin Bradshaw, 23; Michael Esqueda, 28; Martina Jones (also known as Martina Esqueda), 28; Chance Johnston, 27; and David Cessna, 26. Each faces first-degree kidnapping charges.

Investigators say the suspects abducted the victim on March 14 and held him captive. They beat him with a metal baseball bat, fists, and elbows, breaking multiple bones. They forced him to stand for hours, gave him almost no food or water, and allowed him just ten hours of sleep over the entire week.

The abuse started in Toledo and later moved to a Red Roof Inn in Maumee, where four of the suspects were staying. Police believe Martina Jones planned the kidnapping and assaults. She reportedly had relationships with several suspects and shares children with them.

The victim escaped on March 21 when the kidnappers let him enter a Speedway convenience store. He asked a stranger for help, who then contacted his mother. She called Maumee police, leading to the arrests.

All six suspects remain in the Lucas County Corrections Center on a $200,000 bond. They are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 1.
