Voices Against Violence sang together in Bridgeton, New Jersey this past weekend to make history as the largest gospel choir ever assembled.
An official tally of 1,542 “singers” gathered together in front of the City Hall Annex on Commerce St. Only 1,007 people were needed to sing for 5 straight minutes to break the Guinness record.
The reason for the event was to help raise awareness against the eminent violence that has surrounded Bridgeton in the past few months, including shootings last August that left two men dead.
They performed “Amazing Grace” with passion and purpose.
