When this year’s Billboard Women in Music Event takes place in New York City on December 2nd, hip-pop artist Nicki Minaj will be presented with the ‘Rising Star’ award of 2011. This latest accolade comes on the heels of Minaj also winning awards for ‘Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album’ and ‘Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist’ at this year’s American Music Awards.

Nicki will be joined at this year’s event by Taylor Swift, who Minaj acknowledges as one of her strongest supporters and the reason why her label Young Money, was eventually moved to release her biggest hit to date, ‘Super Bass.’

“I am deeply honored to be recognized by Billboard,” says Minaj. “My nation of barbz and I have come a mighty long way; yet we are nowhere close to where God will take us. Sit back and enjoy the ride.”

And in another bit of “Nicki News,” speaking directly to her legion of over 7 million barbz, the 28-year old budding icon announced via Twitter that her new album, ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,’ will be released on Valentine’s Day 2012.

Nicki added that despite the ‘Pink Friday’ title, the album will not be a re-release but rather a completely new album… new tracks… new everything!
