Superintendent Michael Robinson Has Some Explaining To Do

The Akron teacher’s union has filed at least 20 grievances against district Superintendent Michael Robinson over the last year. Based on a report from FOX 8, Akron’s school board is hiring “crisis intervention specialists” to look into those complaints.

Robinson is being accused of illegally using “vanishing emails” that disappear after the recipient has opened them. Against the law in Ohio, Akron employees complain that the information in the emails cannot be downloaded, forwarded or copied.

From FOX 8:

“This superintendent is circumventing the law and sending public records in a manner that no one can download, forward and copy, and the superintendent is causing these emails to disappear suddenly from someone’s inbox. That’s a violation of Ohio law,” union attorney Don Malarcik told FOX 8’s I-Team.

In addition to the email scandal, Robinson is also being accused of bullying and intimidating board members, creating a hostile work environment, and lying on his resume.

In response, Robinson has publicly stated that the board of education in Akron is unfairly treating him like a criminal. It’s also worth noting that, in Robinson’s first-year review, it was determined that he “competently executed his duties”.

This is a developing story. We will update it with new information when it’s available.
