Case Western Reserve University receives a large donation from long-time supporters for the school’s performing arts project.

On Wednesday, national broadcast pioneer Milton Maltz and his wife, Tamar, announced that they would provide the university with $30 million through a combination of Maltz Family Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and family funds.

The money will go toward the initiative to transform The Temple – Tifereth Israel at University Circle.

The Temple serves as a theater for music and dance students, but also hosts religious observances.

After the project, The Temple will be a state-of-the-art structure that preserves the building’s most prominent historic components.
