(WOIO) –

The unemployment rate in Ohio continued to climb for the third straight month.  It rose to 9.1 percent in August, up from 9 percent in July.

When will things get better?  The news does not look good for nearly 600 postal employees in Akron and Canton.  They are now among the thousands who are worried their pink slips may be in the mail soon.

The U.S. Postal Service announced it is looking at 487 mail processing plants across the country for possible closure.  The agency projects it will be $10 billion in the hole by the start of the next fiscal year.

Officials will announce which plants will definitely close some time in March.
