CLEVELAND – Midtown business owners in Cleveland are worried after learning another exit ramp will soon close.
Ohio Department of Transportation officials will soon shut down the Carnegie Avenue ramp, a vital business artery, off of I-90.
The plan is to re-route traffic around the construction of a new Innerbelt Bridge.
The closing will happen after the Fourth of July holiday and will last about 6 months catching some business owners in the Midtown area off guard.
“If it’s going to be harder to commute back and forth or take an extra 5 or 10 minutes, I think they might go somewhere else that’ll be easier and less of a headache,” said Wesley Connelly, a Midtown florist.
“We are not OK with the closures”, said President & CEO of Central Cadillac Frank Porter. “Obviously this will have a huge impact on all the Midtown businesses and traffic will be seriously impacted.”
