A woman told officers she strangled her boyfriend at a home near Indianapolis’ northwest side early Friday after he started “cussing her out,” Indianapolis police said.

Officers were called to the 3100 block of Thayer Street about 12:20 a.m. after dispatchers received a 911 call from a woman who said her boyfriend was passed out and may not be breathing.

Cops say Yanita Kittrell, 38 (above) led officers to a bedroom, where the body of Marcus Motley, 29, was found on the floor.

Homicide detectives say Kittrell admitted that she strangled Motley after he cussed her out because she was on the phone.

“Kittrell says she then grabbed a rope and put it around Motley’s neck,” according to the police report.

Kittrell was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder.
