Former state Rep. Matt Dolan is extolling integrity, government efficiency and economic development in his bid to become the first Cuyahoga County executive.
The Republican has been prepping since at least December, when he moved from his Russell Township home in Geauga County to next-door Chagrin Falls to be eligible for the $175,000-a-year post, created by voters last November.
Last month, he resigned from his third term in the Ohio House of Representatives.
Tuesday, he officially kicked off his campaign at the Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University.
“We need somebody who’s going to articulate a vision,” Dolan said at the news conference. “Not only where we’re going but who we want to be.
