Millions of U.S. veterans and their families are focused on the Veterans Administration scandal, and President Obama says he’s on top of it.
“If these allegations prove to be true, it is dishonorable. It is disgraceful, and I will not tolerate it. Period,” the president said.
The scandal surrounds 40 veterans dying while waiting for care at the Phoenix VA and a reported coverup of the backlog or “secret waiting list.”
The investigation into Phoenix is about half completed, but now the scope has included 26 other VA facilities across the country.
A representative for the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland says it is not part of the investigation.
