The Long Journey From Seneca Falls To Hillary 2016:

The long wait ended Tuesday night with a woman center stage, arms outstretched.

It could be measured in years: 240 after the birth of the United States, 96 after women won the right to vote, eight after coming tantalizingly close — and falling short.
It could be measured in hours: 24 since history crept in quietly, waiting, yet again, for a moment to roar.
On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton finally embraced a landmark long in the making, claiming victory as the first woman to lead the presidential ticket of a major political party.
“Thanks to you, we’ve reached a milestone,” she told a cheering crowd. “Tonight’s victory is not about one person. It belongs to generations of women and men who struggled and sacrificed and made this moment possible.”

Olympic Games: Is Rio Ready?:

There’s a pretty big question in Rio that doesn’t have an answer just yet. How do the countless Olympic guests expected to stay in the luxury hotels lining the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema get from there to the Olympic Park without being stuck in hours of Rio’s least popular asset: its traffic?

The city thought it had a ready answer: an extension to its subway system, the Metro, known as Line 4, that would go from the beach areas, under all the car-clogged roads, almost all the way to the Olympic Park.

Nike Stands By Maria Sharapova Despite Two-Year Drug Ban:

Nike is standing by tennis star Maria Sharapova, even after she was suspended for two years for using a banned drug.

The sportswear giant, which had previously put its relationship with the athlete on hold, highlighted that an investigation by the International Tennis Federation found that she “did not intentionally break its rules.”

“Maria has always made her position clear, has apologized for her mistake and is now appealing the length of the ban,” Nike (NKE) said in a statement. “Based on the decision of the ITF and their factual findings, we hope to see Maria back on court and will continue to partner with her.”
