Joel Osteen received backlash over the weekend on social media from folks claiming that his  Mega Church had closed its doors to Harvey flood victims.

A message on the church’s social media account  stated that the venue was “inaccessible due to severe flooding” following Hurricane Harvey.

On Monday Lakewood Church released the following statement:

“We have never closed our doors. We will continue to be a distribution center for those in need,” church spokesman and Osteen’s father-in-law Donald Iloff said.
