Betty Lee Jackson, mother of Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson, passed away Sunday morning after long battle with illness.
For Jackson, the loss of his mother comes on the heels of his brother unexpectedly passing away last month.
Reportedly, Jackson will return to his hometown of Los Angeles for his mother’s funeral following the Browns’ preseason opener against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Thursday, August 9.
Currently, the Browns are in the middle of their third training camp under Jackson’s direction, and are the subject of the HBO Sports documentary series, “Hard Knocks.”
A 30-person NFL Films crew is embedded with the Browns in Berea and have unlimited access to players’ and coaches’ meeting rooms, training rooms, the team hotel and practice fields, where they are gathering more than 2,000 hours of footage for the mini-series.
