NYC Prison Guard Planned Inmate’s Escape For Drugs And Money

NEW YORK — Robert Whitfield, a prison guard at Rikers Island, was arrested for allegedly plotting to spring a drug kingpin from jail in exchange for three kilos of cocaine and $20,000.
Authorities learned of the unfolding scheme between Whitfield and an inmate, and caught him by posing an agent as an intermediary.
