In her first campaign speech as a candidate for Ohio lieutenant governor, Yvette McGee Brown, running mate of Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland, highlighted Strickland’s focus on primary education during his first term in office.

She noted that the governor increased school funding by 5.5 percent and that he committed the state to focus on science, technology, engineering and math — or STEM. She then said this focus on education is bringing Ohio national recognition.

“The critics have spoken and every Ohioan should hear what they have to say about our schools,” she said. “The Education Commission of the States gave Ohio its award for the most innovative education reform plan in the nation. Education Week rates Ohio schools in the top five in the nation.”

The Obama administration’s decision to sue Arizona over its newly adopted immigration law provoked howls of outrage from Republicans around the country.

While the Justice Department said the lawsuit was needed to avoid racial profiling and stake out the federal government’s role in setting immigration policy, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele called it “another instance of hollow, political gamesmanship from a White House unwilling to take the bold action necessary to solve one of the country’s most pressing issues.”

House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio opined that border violence is “out of control,” and that states have “a right and responsibility to ensure order and the safety of their citizens, especially when the federal government is asleep at the wheel.”

Even 13th District Congressional Candidate Tom Ganley of Brecksville got into the act, authoring a column on his campaign website blog that asks: “Why is the Obama Administration Suing Arizona?”

Like Boehner, Ganley said states should step in if the federal government isn’t enforcing immigration laws.

“Interestingly, the Arizona law basically parrots the federal immigration law,” Ganley continued. “I wonder what part of the federal law the Obama Administration doesn’t like?”

At the Ohio Homecoming this week Kid Cudi attacks a crazy fan on stage while performing his song “Pursuit of Happiness” and off but the fan is the one that gets arrested. My question is “Doesn’t Kid Cudi seem to be the one with a history of VIOLENCE?” Well you tell me… recently in the headlines Kid Cudi was arrested for felony criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance (wonder what drug this was exactly). Sources say Kid took a 24-year-old woman’s phone and slammed it to smithereens. He also allegedly broke the door of her apartment off its hinges. Cops arrived and found a glass bottle of a controlled substance (Drugs and Violence). Also in the headline Cudi attacked a fan at his show elsewhere, watch his performance in Vancouver where he jumps into the crowd to punch a fan in the face… coinsidentally the same song is playing, Pursuit of Happiness. smh. On the other hand, I wonder what this crazed fan was smokin’ when he ran on stage…
